The drive mechanism is supported by a stationary Centre pier. A structural steel cage suspended from the drive mechanism carries the rake arms. A structural bridge extending from Centre to periphery of the tank serves as walkway. Feed is given to the feed well at the Centre of the machine. Clear overflow is received at the peripheral launder and sludge the sludge pocket.
Skimmers are provided whenever duty conditions are demanding. These are assembled with the central shaft and scraper arm supports. These help to remove floating materials from the liquid surface. The surface skimmer arms provided with rubber flaps help in the removal of floating materials and grease. The skimmings are collected in a scum trough supported on tank inner wall which will ultimately drain the skimmings.
